Our activities in the PUR Business Unit are determined by the fundamental belief that safety, environmental protection, product and process quality and economic efficiency are success factors of equal importance. We thus respect and support the aims of responsible care and sustainable development as an obligation for management and a responsibility for every employee.

Successful projects include:
  • Innovative technologies for foaming rigid and flexible foams using innovative blowing agents
  • Development of low-emission (“low-fogging”) polyurethane materials for automotive engineering
  • Use of renewable raw materials in combination with polyurethanes
  • Use of rebonded foam and foam powder as recycled materials
  • Weight reduction in the automotive industry through use of polyurethane sandwich elements and replacement of steel with polyurethane

Current projects include:
  • Further reducing the thermal conductivity of rigid foams
  • Minimizing the concentration of flame retardants in rigid foams
  • Minimizing waste parts and production waste in polyurethane processing using expert systems
